Colorado law allows couples who are contemplating marriage, or who are already married, to enter into a written agreement which will control, to the extent allowable by law, the disposition of their property and debts as well as some other matters, in the event that their marriage should end in divorce or legal separation or even death. By means of such an agreement it is possible for the parties to specify certain items or catagories of property as exempt from sharing with the other party as it might otherwise have been had the parties divorced without such an agreement. Such agreements must be accompanied by a complete disclosure of both parties' assets and liabilities, without which the agreement might be subject to attack later. For more information on this subject or to discuss the particulars of your case, call Mr. Calder for a free one-half hour confidential consultation, either by phone or in his office, at (303) 751-9462. |
