A: An uncontested divorce requires that BOTH parties cooperate, which obviously means
they must be in contact with one another. If your spouse's whereabouts are unknown and
you are unable to locate him or her despite reasonable efforts, you may be able to obtain a
divorce by publication. In such a case notice of the proceedings is published in a
newspaper. The Court's power to grant certain types of relief is limited in this type of
